The Prophet ﷺ said, "Two hungry, ravenous wolves let loose among a flock of sheep, one tearing through the front and the other through the rear, do not cause more ruin than a man's craving for status and wealth in this world causes to his religion."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: ما ذئبان ضاريان جائعان في غنم افترقت أحدهما في أولها والآخر في آخرها بأسرع فسادا من امرئ في دينه يحب شرف الدنيا ومالها.

Abu Yaala (6449) narrated it from Abu Bakr bin Zanjawayh, who said, Amr bin Rabee narrated to us, Yahya bin Ayub narrated to us, from Umara bin Ghaziya, from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel bin Abu Talib, from Abu Mura, the freedman of Aqeel, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel bin Abu Talib, for his narrations are hasan when he does not contradict others and does not bring forth anything that would be rejected of him. Likewise, Umara bin Ghaziya's narrations are also hasan. Busiri judged its chain to be sound in Ithaf Khayra Mahra (7252).
