Masruq reported,

I asked Ayesha, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ever recite poetry or sayings?"She replied, "Whenever he entered his home, he would recite the saying, 'If the son of Adam had two valleys of gold, he would seek a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust, but Allah turns in mercy to whoever turns to Him in repentance. Wealth was given only so that prayer might be established and zakat paid through it.'"She said, "We used to consider this to be among what was abrogated from the Quran."
