The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would long for a third. Nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust, and Allah turns in mercy to whoever turns to Him in repentance."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لو أن لابن آدم واديين من مال لتمنى إليهما الثالث، ولا يملأ جوف ابن آدم إلا التراب، ويتوب الله على من تاب.
Tabarani reported it in al-Saghir and al-Awsat (Majma al-Bahrayn 4913) from Husayn bin Ishaq Tustari, who said, Hamid bin Yahya Balkhi narrated to us, who said, Sufyan bin Uyayna narrated to us, from Ismail bin Abu Khalid, from Qays bin Abu Hazim, from Saad bin Abu Waqqas, and he mentioned it.Haythami said in al-Majma (10/244), "Tabarani reported it in al-Awsat and al-Saghir, and the men of both are the men of the Sahih except for Hamid bin Yahya Balkhi, and he is trustworthy."I say, its chain is hasan because of Hamid bin Yahya Balkhi. Abu Dawud, Abu Zura, and Abu Hatim narrated from him, and Abu Hatim said, "He is truthful." Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators.
