The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Nobility lies in wealth, and honor lies in piety."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: الحسب المال، والكرم التقوى.
Tirmidhi (3271), Ibn Majah (4219), and Hakim (2/163) all narrated it through the route of Yunus bin Muhammad, who said, Sallam bin Abu Mati narrated to us, from Qatada, from Samura, and he mentioned it.Sallam bin Abu Mati has been criticized regarding his hadith from Qatada, but this does not harm this particular hadith, because there is a sound original basis for it. Hasan Basri heard from Samura bin Jundab in general, and the rest of what he has is from a written source.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith."
