The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I do not fear poverty for you, but I fear that you will compete in amassing wealth. And I do not fear unintentional wrongdoing from you, but I fear deliberate wrongdoing."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما أخشى عليكم الفقر، ولكن أخشى عليكم التكاثر، وما أخشى عليكم الخطأ، ولكن أخشى عليكم العمد.
Ahmad narrated it (8074), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (3222), as did Hakim (2/534), all of them through the route of Jafar bin Barqan, who said, "I heard Yazid bin Asam narrate from Abu Hurairah," and he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Haythami said in Majma (3/121), "Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of Sahih."
