Ahmad (17649), Abu Naeem in al-Hilya (2/15), and Bayhaqi in Shuab (767) all narrated it through various routes from Baqiya bin Walid, who said, Buhayr bin Saad told me, from Khalid bin Madan, from Utba bin Abd, who said, and then he related it. Its isnad is hasan because of Baqiya bin Walid, for his hadith is hasan when he states his sources explicitly. Abu Naeem said, "It is unusual as a hadith of Khalid, Baqiya alone transmitted it from Buhayr." I say, this is as he said, but it does no harm. It is strengthened by what was narrated as a stopped report from Muhammad bin Abu Umayra, who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "If a servant were to fall on his face in obedience to Allah from the day he was born until he died of old age, that day would still seem insignificant to him, and he would wish to be returned to this world so that he might gain more reward and recompense."Ahmad (17650) narrated it from Ali bin Ishaq, who said, Abdullah, meaning Ibn Mubarak, told us, Thawr bin Yazid told us, from Khalid bin Madan, from Jubayr bin Nufayr, from Muhammad bin Abu Umayra, who said, and then he related it. Its narrators are trustworthy.
