The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a dead lamb and said to them, "Do you see how worthless this is to its owners?"They replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, this world is more worthless to Allah than this lamb is to its owners."
أن رسول الله ﷺ مر بسخلة ميتة، فقال لهم: ترون هذه هانت على أهلها؟ قالوا: نعم يا رسول الله، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: والذي نفس محمد بيده للدنيا أهون على الله من هذه على أهلها.
Narrated by Ibn Abu Asim in Zuhd (134), and Bazzar (7200), both of them from Abu Kamil Jahdari, Fudayl bin Husayn, [who said], "Qannad, that is, Abu Ismail, informed us, Qatada informed us, from Anas," then he related it.Its isnad is hasan because of Qannad, Abu Ismail, whose name was Ibrahim bin Abdul-Malik, who is disputed. Ibn Main and Ibn Madini declared him daif, while Nasai and Bazzar considered him acceptable. Aqeeli said, "It is not preserved as coming from Qatada." Haythami said in Majma (10/287), "Bazzar narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy."The apparent truth is that Aqeeli's statement is sahih, because Qatada was among those who narrated extensively, and no one corroborated Qannad in this. However, the hadith has a basis from other companions, so there is no harm in it given this situation.
