The Prophet ﷺ passed by the ruins of an abandoned settlement where a dead lamb lay. He said, "Its owners have no need for it."The people replied, "Prophet of Allah, if its owners had any need for it, they would not have discarded it."He said, "By Allah, this world is more insignificant to Allah than this lamb is to its owners. So let me not find that it has destroyed any of you."
مر النبي ﷺ بدمنة قوم فيها سخلة ميتة، قال: ما لأهلها فيها حاجة قالوا: يا نبي الله لو كان لأهلها فيها حاجة ما نبذوها، قال: فو الله للدنيا أهون على الله من هذه السخلة على أهلها، فلا ألفينها أهلكت أحدا منكم.

Bazzar (4113) narrated it from Muhammad bin Amir (that is, Antaki), who said, Rabi (that is, Ibn Nafi Abu Tuba Halabi) narrated to us, Muhammad bin Muhajir narrated to me, from Yunus bin Halbas, from Abu Idris Aidhullah, from Abu Darda, and he related it.Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Bazzar himself declared it sahih, saying, "Its chain of transmission is sahih among the hadiths of the people of Sham, and in the hadith of Abu Darda there is an addition beyond the other hadiths, 'Let me not find that it has destroyed any of you.'"Haythami said in Majma (10/287), "Bazzar narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy."
