Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him, and whoever hates to meet Allah, Allah hates to meet him."We said, "Messenger of Allah, all of us hate death."He replied, "That is not what is meant by hating death. Rather, when the believer is approached by the Bashir from Allah with news of what awaits him, nothing is more beloved to him than to meet Allah, so Allah loves to meet him. But when the wicked person, or the disbeliever, is approached at his death with news of the evil that awaits him, or the evil he is about to encounter, he hates to meet Allah, and Allah hates to meet him."
