The Prophet ﷺ said, "The likeness of the hypocrite is that of a wandering sheep between two flocks, going to this one at one time and to that one at another time."In another wording, "It runs to this one at one time and to that one at another time."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: مثل المنافق كمثل الشاة العائرة بين الغنمين، تعير إلى هذه مرة وإلى هذه مرة. وفي لفظ: تكر في هذه مرة وفي هذه مرة.
Muslim narrated it in the Attributes of the Hypocrites (2784) through several routes from Ubaydullah, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, and he related it. He also narrated it through the route of Musa bin Uqba, from Nafi, with the second wording.
