Imam Ahmad (5995) and Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (549) both narrated it through two paths from Yunus bin Qasim Hanafi Yamami, who said, "I heard Ikrima bin Khalid Makhzumi say, 'I heard Ibn Umar say...'" and he mentioned it. Haythami said in Majma (1/98), "Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the sahih." His statement, "considers himself great" means to be arrogant, and his statement, "swaggered" means he displayed arrogance.In similar meaning, from Abdullah bin Hanzala, that Abdullah bin Salam passed through the market carrying a bundle of firewood, and he was asked, "Has Allah, the Exalted, not made you wealthy enough to avoid this?" He said, "Indeed he has, but I wanted to suppress arrogance. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No one will enter Paradise who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of arrogance.'"This was narrated by Abdullah bin Ahmad in Zawaid Zuhd (p. 182), Abu Yaala as found in Matalib Aliyah (3226), Tabarani in Kabir (14946), and Bayhaqi in Shuab (7850), all through the route of Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Muqaddami, who said, "Ismail bin Sinan narrated to us, Ikrima bin Ammar narrated to us, from Muhammad bin Qasim," who said, "Abdullah bin Hanzala claimed," and he mentioned it.In Zawaid Zuhd it appears as "Qasim bin Muhammad" instead of "Muhammad bin Qasim." This is likely a transposition, since in all the other sources it appears as "Muhammad bin Qasim." Muhammad bin Qasim is counted among the unknown narrators, since no one narrated from him except Ikrima bin Ammar, and no one deemed him reliable except that Ibn Hibban mentioned him among his trusted narrators, following his usual practice.
