I asked, "Messenger of Allah, regarding our private parts, which of them may we expose and which must we conceal?"He replied, "Guard your private parts from everyone except your wife or those your right hand possesses."I asked, "Messenger of Allah, what if people are together among one another?"He said, "If you can manage that no one sees them, then let no one see them."I asked, "Messenger of Allah, what if one of us is alone?"He said, "Allah is more deserving that one feel shy before Him than people."
Reported by Abu Dawud (4017), Tirmidhi (2769), and Ibn Majah (1920), all of them through the route of Bahz bin Hakeem, in the same manner. Tirmidhi said, this is a hasan hadith, and Bahz's grandfather was named Muawiya bin Hayda Qushayri, and Jareeri narrated from Hakeem bin Muawiya, who is the father of Bahz. End of quote.I say, it is as he said, for Bahz bin Hakeem is truthful, and the rest of the men in the chain are all trustworthy.
