The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "People will remain in goodness so long as they do not envy one another."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا يزال الناس بخير ما لم يتحاسدوا.
Abu Shaykh narrated it in al-Tawbikh wal-Tanbih (80), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (8/369), both through various routes from Ismail bin Ayyash, from Damdam bin Zura, from Shurayh bin Ubayd, from Abu Bahriya, from Damra bin Thalaba, who mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Ismail bin Ayyash and his teacher Damdam bin Zura, for their hadith is hasan when they are both Syrians. Munziri said in al-Targhib (4380), "Tabarani narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy," and Haythami followed him in al-Majma (8/78).
