Nothing was more hateful to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than lying. A man might tell a single lie in his presence, and it would remain on the Prophet's mind until he came to know that the man had repented of it.
ما كان خلق أبغض إلى رسول الله ﷺ من الكذب، ولقد كان الرجل يكذب عنده الكذبة، فما تزال في نفسه حتى يعلم أنه قد أحدث منها توبة.
Ibn Hibban (5736) narrated it via Muhammad bin Abdul-Malik bin Zanjuwayh, and Bayhaqi in Kubra (10/196) via Ahmad bin Mansur Ramadi, both of them (Muhammad bin Abdul-Malik and Ahmad bin Mansur) from Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Maamar informed us, from Ayub, from Ibn Abu Mulayka, from Ayesha, and he related it.However, what Abdul-Razzaq narrated in his Musannaf (20195), and from him Imam Ahmad (25183), was from Maamar, from Ayub, from Ibn Abu Mulayka or someone else, from Ayesha... the hadith with similar wording. Certainty is not removed by doubt. Khalaf bin Ayub corroborated Abdul-Razzaq's definite attribution, in what Bayhaqi recorded in Shuab (4815) from Maamar with his chain, in like manner. Its chain of transmission is sahih, and it should not be faulted on account of the doubt, because it has come with a definite attribution through other routes as well.
