A donkey that had been branded on its face passed by the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "May Allah curse the one who branded it."
أن النبي ﷺ مر عليه حمار قد وسم في وجهه فقال: لعن الله الذي وسمه.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Clothing and Adornment (2117:107), from Salama bin Shabib, from Hasan bin Ayan, from Maqil, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir, and he related it.Abu Dawud also narrated it (2564), from Muhammad bin Kathir, from Sufyan, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir, that the Prophet ﷺ passed by a donkey that had been branded on its face, and he said, "Have you not heard that I have cursed whoever brands an animal on its face or strikes it on its face?" And he forbade that.
