The people stopped with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at al-Hijr, the land of Thamud, and drew water from its wells, using it to knead their dough. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered them to pour out the water they had drawn and to feed the dough to their camels, and he commanded them to draw water instead from the well that the she-camel used to frequent. In another narration it adds, "So they drew water from its wells and kneaded their dough with it."
Bukhari narrated it in the Prophets (3379), and Muslim in Zuhd and Raqaiq (2981), both of them by way of Ubaydullah, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, who related it. The wording is Muslim's, and the addition mentioned belongs to him in another narration.
