The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never slept before the Isha prayer, nor did he engage in conversation after it.
ما نام رسول الله ﷺ قبل العشاء، ولا سمر بعدها.
Ibn Majah (702), Ahmad (26280), and Abu Yaala (4784) all narrated it through Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman bin Yaala Thaqafi, from Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, from his father, from Ayesha, who related it.Its chain is hasan, on account of Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman Thaqafi, concerning whom there is disagreement, though his hadith is hasan when he does not err, and he is among the narrators relied upon by Muslim. I hope he did not err in this hadith, since its meaning is confirmed as sahih through the hadith of Abu Barza Aslami.Busiri said in Zawaid bin Majah, "This chain is sahih, its narrators are trustworthy."
