The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Cover your vessels, shut your doors, and put out your lamps, for the little mischief-maker may drag the wick and burn down the household."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: خمروا الآنية، وأجيفوا الأبواب، وأطفئوا المصابيح، فإن الفويسقة ربما جرت الفتيلة فأحرقت أهل البيت.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Seeking Permission (6295) from Qutayba, who said, Hammad narrated to us, from Kathir, from Ataa, from Jabir bin Abdullah, and he mentioned it.Muslim narrated it in the Book of Drinks (2012) through a route from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir, with similar wording.
