A house in Medina burned down on its occupants during the night. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was told about what had happened to them, he said, "This fire is indeed an enemy to you, so when you go to sleep, put it out."
احترق بيت على أهله بالمدينة من الليل، فلما حدث رسول الله ﷺ بشأنهم قال: إن هذه النار إنما هي عدو لكم، فإذا نمتم فأطفئوها عنكم.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Seeking Permission (6294), and Muslim in the Book of Drinks (2016), both through the route of Abu Usama, from Burayd, from Abu Burda, from Abu Musa, who said, and then he mentioned it.
