The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should say, 'My soul has become wicked,' but rather let him say, 'My soul feels uneasy.'"
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا يقولن أحدكم: خبثت نفسي، ولكن ليقل: لقست نفسي.
Bukhari narrated it in Adab (6179), and Muslim in Alfaz min Adab (2250), both through the route of Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Ayesha, who mentioned it.
