قلت: يا رسول الله حدثني بأمر أعتصم به، قال: قل ربي الله ثم استقم، قلت: يا رسول الله ما أخوف ما تخاف علي، فأخذ بلسان نفسه، ثم قال: هذا.
Tirmidhi (2410), Ibn Majah (3972), and Ibn Hibban (5699), who graded it sahih, along with Hakim (4/313), all narrated it through Zuhri, from Abdul-Rahman bin Maiz, from Sufyan bin Abdullah Thaqafi, who said, and then he related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Maiz, though it has also been said that he is Abdul-Rahman bin Maiz. A group of narrators transmitted from him, and Ibn Hibban confirmed his reliability.Urwa corroborated the first part of the hadith. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (38) through several routes, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Sufyan bin Abdullah Thaqafi, and then he related it.
