Tirmidhi (2501) narrated it from Qutayba bin Saeed, and Ibn Mubarak in Zuhd (385), and Abdullah bin Wahb in Jami (302), all three from Ibn Lahia, from Yazid bin Amr Maafiri, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, from Abdullah bin Amr, who related it.Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Lahia, who has been criticized, but the narration of Ibn Mubarak, Ibn Wahb, and Qutayba bin Saeed from him is hasan, and this is one of them.Tirmidhi said, "This is a gharib hadith we do not know except through the hadith of Ibn Lahia." I say, it is not as he said, rather Ibn Lahia has corroboration. Ibn Wahb narrated it in Jami (302), and from his route Tabarani in Kabir (14/87), from Amr bin Harith, who said, Yazid bin Amr Maafiri narrated to us, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, from Abdullah bin Amr, with the same wording.Munziri said in Targheeb (4359), "Tabarani narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy."
