Ibn Hibban (5717) and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (17/85) both narrated it through Muhammad bin Muthanna, who said, Wahb bin Jareer bin Hazim told us, my father told me, from Amash, from Khaythama (he is Ibn Abdul-Rahman), from Adi bin Hatim, and he related it. Its isnad is sahih. Haythami said, Tabarani narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. However, Ibn Abu Shayba (35422) narrated it from Abu Usama, from Jareer bin Hazim, from Amash, from Khaythama, from Adi bin Hatim, as a stopped narration (mawquf). The ruling goes to whoever narrated it as raised (marfu), for Wahb bin Jareer is trustworthy, one of the narrators accepted by the whole community, and he is more knowledgeable about his father's hadith.
