An old woman came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was at my house. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her, "Who are you?"She replied, "I am Juthamah al-Muzaniyyah."He said, "Rather, you are Hassanah al-Muzaniyyah. How are you all? How is your condition? How have you been since we last saw you?"She answered, "We are well, may my father and mother be ransomed for you, Messenger of Allah."When she left, I said, "Messenger of Allah, you welcomed this old woman with such warmth?"He replied, "She used to visit us in the time of Khadijah, and honoring old ties is part of faith."
جاءت عجوز إلى النبي ﷺ، وهو عندي، فقال لها رسول الله ﷺ الله: من أنت؟ قالت: أنا جثامة المزنية. فقال: بل أنت حسانة المزنية، كيف أنتم؟ كيف حالكم؟ كيف كنتم بعدنا؟ قالت: بخير بأبي أنت وأمي يا رسول الله، فلما خرجت قلت: يا رسول الله، تقبل على هذه العجوز هذا الإقبال؟ فقال: إنها كانت تأتينا زمن خديجة، و إن حسن العهد من الإيمان.

Hakim narrated it (1/15-16), and Bayhaqi in Shuab (8701), both through Salih bin Rustum, from Ibn Abu Mulayka, from Ayesha, who mentioned it. Hakim said, "Sahih according to the standard of the two Shaikhs." Salih bin Rustum is Abu Amir Basri, about whom the scholars have made critical remarks, though some of them deemed him reliable, and he has been corroborated.Bayhaqi narrated it in Shuab (8702) with his chain through Salm bin Junada, who said, Hafs bin Ghiyath narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Ayesha, in similar wording. Bayhaqi said, "This is how I found it, and by this chain it is gharib."Qasim Saraqusti narrated it in Gharib al-Hadith, from Humaydi, who said, Sufyan (that is, Ibn Uyayna) narrated to us, saying, Abdul-Wahid bin Ayman and others narrated to us, from Ibn Abu Najeeh, from Ayesha, in similar wording. The men of this chain are trustworthy, but it is disconnected, because Ibn Abu Najeeh, whose name is Abdullah, did not hear from Ayesha.Through these chains, the hadith rises to the level of hasan. Bukhari, in his Sahih (6004), gave a chapter heading based on the final part of the hadith, namely his saying, "Maintaining ties is part of faith," and it appears that he is alluding to this hadith.
