A maidservant belonging to Umar had a foreign name, so Umar named her Jamilah. Umar said, "Let the Prophet ﷺ decide between you and me." So we went to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said to her, "You are Jamilah."Umar
then said, "Accept it, like it or not."
أن أمة لعمر الله كان لها اسم من أسماء العجم، فسماها عمررضي الله عنها جميلة، فقال عمر: بيني وبينك النبي ﷺ، فأتينا النبي ﷺ، فقال لها: أنت جميلة، فقال عمررضي الله عنها: خذيها على رغم أنفك.

Ibn Abu Umar Adani related it in his Musnad, as found in Matalib Aliyah (2801), from Bishr bin Sari, who said, Hammad bin Salama narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Busiri also graded its chain sahih in Ithaf Mahra (7424).
