The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought milk that had been mixed with water from the well. To his right was an Arabi, and to his left was Abu Bakr al-Siddiq. He drank, then gave it to the Arabi, saying, "The one on the right, then the next on the right."
أن رسول الله ﷺ أتي بلبن قد شيب بماء من البئر، وعن يمينه أعرابي، وعن يساره أبو بكر لصديق، فشرب، ثم أعطى الأعرابي، وقال: الأيمن فالأيمن.
Malik narrated it in the chapter on the description of the Prophet ﷺ (17), from Ibn Shihab, from Anas bin Malik, as mentioned. Bukhari also narrated it in the chapter on drinks (5619), and Muslim in the chapter on drinks (124:2029), both through the route of Malik, in similar fashion. His saying, "shayyib," means it was mixed and blended to cool it.
