The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a drink and he drank some of it. To his right was a young boy, and to his left were elderly men. He said to the boy, "Will you permit me to give some to these men first?"The boy replied, "No, by Allah, Messenger of Allah, I will not give my share from you to anyone."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed it in his hand.
أن رسول الله ﷺ أتي بشراب فشرب منه، وعن يمينه غلام، وعن يساره الأشياخ، فقال للغلام: أتأذن لي أن أعطي هؤلاء؟ فقال الغلام: لا والله يا رسول الله، لا أوثر بنصيبي منك أحدا، قال: فتله رسول الله ﷺ في يده.
Malik narrated it in the description of the Prophet ﷺ (18), from Abu Hazim bin Dinar, from Sahl bin Saad Ansari, who mentioned it. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Drinks (5620), and Muslim in the Book of Drinks (2030:127), both through the route of Malik, in a similar manner, and the boy is Abdullah bin Abbas.His saying, "fatalahu," with a fatha on the ta and doubling of the lam, means he placed it, and it is also said to mean he placed it forcefully.
