The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Spread the greeting of peace and you will be safe, but excessive frivolity is the worst of conduct."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أفشوا السلام تسلموا، والأشرة أشر.
Ahmad (18530) narrated it, as did Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (787, 1266), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (491). All of them narrated it from the hadith of Abu Muawiya, who said, Qinan bin Abdullah Nahmi told us, from Abdul-Rahman bin Awsaja, from Bara bin Azib, who related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Qinan bin Abdullah Nahmi, for his hadith is hasan. Ibn Main deemed him reliable, and Ibn Adi said, "His hadith is scarce, and it is not clear that he has any weakness worth mentioning."
