He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his neighbor. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest. Hospitality lasts three nights, and whatever is given beyond that is charity."
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليقل خيرا أو ليسكت، ومن كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليكرم جاره، ومن كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليكرم ضيفه والضيافة ثلاث ليال، فما كان وراء ذلك فهو صدقة.
Bazzar (3779) and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (5/266) both narrated it through the route of Yazid bin Had, from Abu Bakr bin Hazm, from Abdullah bin Amr bin Uthman, from Ibn Abu Amrah, from Zayd bin Khalid Juhani, who mentioned it. Its isnad is sahih.
