The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who truly maintains family ties is not the one who merely reciprocates, but the one who maintains them even when his relatives have cut him off."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: ليس الواصل بالمكافئ، ولكن الواصل الذي إذا قطعت رحمه وصلها.
Bukhari narrated it in Adab (5991), from Muhammad bin Kathir, who said, Sufyan informed us, from Amash, and Hasan bin Amr, and Fitr, from Mujahid, from Abdullah bin Amr, and he mentioned it.Sufyan said, "Amash did not trace it back to the Prophet ﷺ, but Hasan and Fitr did trace it back to him."
