The Prophet ﷺ said, "The act of obedience whose reward comes most swiftly is maintaining family ties. A household may be sinful, yet if they keep their kinship bonds, their wealth grows and their numbers increase. No household that maintains its ties will ever fall into need."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: إن أعجل الطاعة ثوابا صلة الرحم، حتى إن أهل البيت ليكونوا فجرة فتنمو أموالهم ويكثر عددهم إذا تواصلوا، وما من أهل بيت يتواصلون فيحتاجون.
Ibn Hibban narrated it in his Sahih (440) from Ahmad bin Ali bin Muthanna, who said, Muslim bin Abu Muslim Jarmi told us, who said, Makhlad bin Husayn told us, from Hisham, from Hasan, from Abu Bakra, who said... and then he related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan, because of Hasan Basri, for he practiced tadlis and he narrated it here using "an" (indicating an ambiguous form of transmission). However, Ibn Hibban's narration indicates that he had ascertained that Hasan Basri did hear it directly from him, and this is why he included it in his Sahih, as he stated in his introduction (1/162), "So if a report from the narration of a mudallis (one who practices tadlis) is confirmed to me as one in which he clarified that he heard it directly, I do not mind mentioning it without clarifying that he heard it directly in his report, once its soundness has been confirmed to me through another route." End of quote.Muslim bin Abu Muslim Jarmi is Ibn Abdul-Rahman. Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the reliable narrators in his book on trustworthy narrators, and Khatib said about him in his history (13/100), "Trustworthy."
