The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah at the cost of people's displeasure, Allah will be pleased with him and will make people pleased with him. And whoever seeks the pleasure of people at the cost of Allah's displeasure, Allah will be displeased with him and will make people displeased with him."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من التمس رضى الله بسخط الناس رضي الله تعالى عنه، وأرضى الناس عنه، ومن التمس رضا الناس بسخط الله سخط الله عليه، وأسخط عليه الناس.

Ibn Hibban (276) narrated it from Hasan bin Sufyan, who said, Abdullah bin Umar Jufi narrated to us, who said, Abdul-Rahman Muharibi narrated to us, from Uthman bin Waqid Umari, from his father, from Muhammad bin Munkadir, from Urwa, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it. Its isnad is hasan because of Abdullah bin Umar Jufi, his teacher Abdul-Rahman bin Muhammad Muharibi, and his teacher Uthman bin Waqid Umari, for all of them have hasan hadith. As for Waqid, who is Ibn Muhammad bin Zayd bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab Adawi Madani, he is trustworthy, and his raising the hadith to the Prophet is an addition from a trustworthy narrator. The hadith has another route that strengthens it, which is what Tirmidhi (2414) narrated through the route of Abdullah bin Mubarak, and it is in his book Zuhd (199), from Abdul-Wahhab bin Ward, from a man among the people of Madinah, who said, Muawiya wrote to Ayesha, "Write to me a letter in which you advise me, and do not overburden me." So Ayesha wrote to Muawiya, "Peace be upon you. To proceed, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say," and she mentioned something similar. In it there is a man who is not named, but he is acceptable for the purpose of strengthening the first route, and by this the hadith is confirmed as marfu (raised to the Prophet) just as it is confirmed as mawquf (stopped at the Companion), for Ayesha used to narrate it in both ways, marfu and mawquf, except that Daraqutni holds the view that its being raised to the Prophet is not established. Ilal (3524). And Allah knows best.
