The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer who mingles with people and endures their harm patiently is greater in reward than the one who neither mingles with them nor bears their harm patiently."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: المؤمن الذي يخالط الناس، ويصبر على أذاهم أعظم أجرا من الذي لا يخالطهم ولا يصبر على أذاهم.
Narrated by Tirmidhi (2507), Ibn Majah (4032), and Ahmad (5022) with this wording, and Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (388), all of them through various routes from Sulayman Amash, who related from Yahya bin Wathab, from Ibn Umar, who said, then he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.In some versions it reads, "from a shaykh among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ," but this does not cause harm since he is a companion, and it has come explicitly in other versions that he is Ibn Umar.
