The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever is granted a favor and acknowledges it has shown gratitude for it, and whoever conceals it has been ungrateful for it."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: من أبلي بلاء فذكره، فقد شكره، وإن كتمه فقد كفره.
Abu Dawud (4814) narrated it from Abdullah bin Jarrah, who said, Jareer told us, from Amash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who mentioned it.Its chain is hasan on account of Abdullah bin Jarrah, for he is hasan al-hadith. Munziri deemed it good in Targheeb (1454).His saying, "Abli," means, He has bestowed a blessing upon him. The meaning of the hadith is, whoever Allah has bestowed a blessing upon should show the effect of that blessing, and whoever does not do so has denied that blessing.Allah, the Exalted, has commanded moderation, as He says, "And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor stingy, but keep a just balance between the two" [Furqan 25:67]. His saying, "a just balance," means moderation, without excess or extravagance.
