The Prophet ﷺ said, "Modesty and faith are paired together. When one is removed, the other is removed with it."
قال النبي ﷺ: الحياء والإيمان قرنا جميعا، فإذا رفع أحدهما رفع الآخر.
Reported by Hakim (1, (22)), and Bayhaqi in Shuab (7331), both through Muhammad bin Ghalib bin Harb Dabbi, and Abu Nuaym in Hilyat Awliya (4/297) through Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Ibrahim Dawraqi, both of them from Abu Salama Musa bin Salama Tabudhaki, who said, Jareer bin Hazim narrated to us, from Yaala bin Hakeem, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Umar, who said such and such. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Hakim said, This is a sahih hadith meeting the criteria of both Bukhari and Muslim, for they both relied on its narrators, though they did not report it in this wording. Bayhaqi, following the hadith, relayed from Muhammad bin Ghalib that he said, Abu Salama (that is, Musa bin Salama Tabudhaki) narrated it to us in "Fawaid," where he gave its full chain going back to the Prophet ﷺ, but when he narrated it to us in the hadith of Jareer bin Hazim, he did not say in it "from the Prophet ﷺ," meaning he narrated it to him as a stopped report. It was also reported by Ibn Abu Shayba in Musannaf (25859) from Abu Usama (Hammad bin Usama), and by Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (1313) through Abdullah bin Mubarak, both of them from Jareer bin Hazim, with the same wording, as a stopped report.Muhammad bin Ghalib Dabbi and Abdullah bin Ahmad Dawraqi are both reliable, and Daraqutni affirmed their reliability, and an addition from a reliable narrator is accepted by the majority of scholars. However, when Muhammad bin Ghalib narrated from a written book, he would elevate the report to the Prophet, as Bayhaqi noted, and what matters is what is actually in the book.
