The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever pursues this world harms the next, and whoever pursues the next world harms this one." Then I heard him say, "So harm the perishing for the sake of the everlasting."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من طلب الدنيا أضر بالآخرة، ومن طلب الآخرة أضر بالدنيا فسمعته قال: فأضروا بالفاني للباقي.
Ibn Abu Asim narrated it in Zuhd (161), from Hudba bin Abdul-Wahhab, Fadl bin Musa informed us, Muhammad bin Amr informed us, from Abu Salama, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it. Its isnad is hasan because of Hudba bin Abdul-Wahhab and Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqama, for both of them are hasan al-hadith.
