Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for the people of the Fire who are truly its inhabitants, they will neither die in it nor live. But there are people whom the Fire will touch because of their sins" (or he said, "because of their wrongdoings"), "and it will cause them to die a death. Once they have been reduced to charcoal, permission will be granted for intercession. They will be brought forth in groups upon groups and scattered along the rivers of Paradise. Then it will be said, 'People of Paradise, pour water upon them,' and they will sprout as a seed sprouts in the silt left by a flood."A man from the gathering remarked, "It is as though the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had once lived in the desert."
