The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one is called to account without being destroyed."Aisha said, "Messenger of Allah, may Allah make me your ransom, does Allah not say, 'As for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will be reckoned with an easy reckoning' [Inshiqaq 84:7–8]?"He replied, "That is merely the presentation, when they are brought forward. But whoever is examined closely in the reckoning is destroyed."Another narration has, "is punished."
Bukhari related it in the tafsir (4939), and Muslim in "Paradise" (2876:80), both through the route of Ibn Abu Mulayka, from Qasim, from Ayesha, and he narrated it. The wording is Bukhari's.
