When he went out with him to Walid, he said, "The Prophet ﷺ called the Ansar to grant them Bahrain as a fief, but they said, 'No, unless you grant our brothers from the Muhajirun the like of it.'He said, 'If you will not, then be patient until you meet me, for after me you will face favoritism shown to others over you.'"
حين خرج معه إلى الوليد قال: دعاء النبي ﷺ الأنصار إلى أن يقطع لهم البحرين، فقالوا: لا، إلا أن تقطع لإخواننا من المهاجرين مثلها. قال: إما لا فاصبروا حتى تلقوني، فإنه سيصيبكم بعدي أثرة.
