The Messenger of Allah ﷺ burned and cut down the palm trees of Banu Nadir, at the place called Buwayra. Then Allah revealed, "Whatever palm trees you cut down or left standing on their roots, it was by Allah's permission, and so that He might disgrace the transgressors" [Hashr 59:5].
أن رسول الله ﷺ حرق نخل بني النضير وقطع، وهي البويرة، فأنزل الله تعالى: {ما قطعتم من لينة أو تركتموها قائمة على أصولها فبإذن الله وليخزي الفسقين}
Bukhari narrated it in the tafsir (4884) and Muslim narrated it in jihad and expeditions (1746:29), both from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, Layth (that is, Ibn Saad) narrated to us, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, who mentioned it.
