Anas bin Malik reported,

Ali said, "They once beat the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until he lost consciousness. Abu Bakr stood up and began crying out, 'Woe to you! "Do you kill a man merely because he says, My Lord is Allah" [Ghafir 40:28]?'"They asked, "Who is this?"Others replied, "It is the madman, the son of Abu Quhafa."

His saying, "And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith said, 'Do you kill a man because he says my Lord is Allah, and he has come to you with clear proofs from your Lord?
