The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah folded up the earth for me so that I saw its eastern and western reaches, and the dominion of my nation will reach as far as what was folded up for me of it. I have been given the two treasures, the red and the white. I asked my Lord that He not destroy my nation by a widespread famine, and that He not empower over them an enemy from outside themselves who would violate their sanctuary. My Lord said, 'Muhammad, when I decree a matter, it cannot be reversed. I grant you for your nation that I will not destroy them by a widespread famine, and that I will not empower over them an enemy from outside themselves who would violate their sanctuary, even if those in all its regions,' or He said, 'those between its regions, were to gather against them. But some of them will destroy others and some of them will take others captive.'"
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Tribulations and Signs of the Hour (2889) through several routes, from Hammad bin Zayd, from Ayub, from Abu Qilaba, from Abu Asma, from Thawban, who said, then he mentioned it.
