I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "This matter will surely reach as far as the night and day extend. Allah will not leave a house of brick or a tent of hair without causing this religion to enter it, whether through the honor of the honored or the humiliation of the humiliated. Allah honors people through Islam, and He humiliates them through disbelief."Tamim Dari used to say, "I have witnessed this within my own family. Those of them who embraced Islam attained goodness, nobility, and honor, while those who remained disbelievers were struck with humiliation, lowliness, and the jizyah."
Ahmad narrated it (16957), as did Hakim (4/430), and Bayhaqi (9/181) on his authority, from the hadith of Safwan bin Amr Saksaki, who said, "Salim bin Amir told me, from Tamim Dari," and he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs." But the correct view is that it meets the criteria of Muslim alone, for Bukhari did not narrate from these men.
