Abdullah bin Abu Qatada reported,

Abu Qatada was searching for a man who owed him a debt. The man hid from him for a time, but eventually Abu Qatada found him.The man said, "I am in financial hardship."Abu Qatada asked, "By Allah?"The man replied, "By Allah."Abu Qatada said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever wishes that Allah deliver him from the distress of the Day of Resurrection, let him grant relief to one in hardship, or forgive the debt entirely.'"

Sahih

عن عبد الله بن أبي قتادة

أن أبا قتادة طلب غريما له، فتواري عنه، ثم وجده فقال: إني معسر، فقال: الله، قال: الله، قال: فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من سره أن ينجيه الله من كرب يوم القيامة فلينفسن عن معسر، أو يضع عنه.
