The Prophet ﷺ said, "When you hear a hadith from me that your hearts recognize, that softens your hair and your skin, and that you feel is close to you, then I am the closest of you to it. And when you hear a hadith from me that your hearts reject, that makes your hair and your skin recoil, and that you feel is far from you, then I am the furthest of you from it."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: إذا سمعتم الحديث عني تعرفه قلوبكم، وتلين له أشعاركم وأبشاركم، وترون أنه منكم قريب، فأنا أولاكم به، وإذا سمعتم الحديث عني تنكره قلوبكم، وتنفر أشعاركم وأبشاركم، وترون أنه منكم بعيد، فأنا أبعدكم منه.
Ahmad (16058), Bazzar (Kashf Astar - 187), and Ibn Hibban (63) all narrated it through Abu Amir Aqadi, who said, "Sulayman bin Bilal narrated to us, from Rabia bin Abu Abdul-Rahman, from Abdul-Malik bin Saeed bin Suwayd, from Abu Humayd and Abu Usayd," and he mentioned it. Its isnad is sahih. Bazzar said, "We do not know of it being narrated through a better route than this."
