The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every intoxicant is khamr, and every intoxicant is forbidden. Whoever drinks khamr in this world and dies addicted to it without repenting will not drink it in the Hereafter."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: كل مسكر خمر، وكل مسكر حرام، ومن شرب الخمر في الدنيا فمات وهو يدمنها لم يتب، لم يشربها في الآخرة.
Muslim narrated it in "The Book of Drinks" (2003) through several routes from Hammad bin Zayd, who said, Ayub narrated to us, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, who said, and then he related it.As for the saying of Allah Most High, "They ask you what they should spend. Say, 'The surplus'" [Baqarah 2:219], the meaning of "the surplus" here is whatever exceeds one's need.
