Abu Talha reported,

A man recited the Quran in the presence of Umar, and Umar corrected him.The man said, "I recited it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he did not correct me."So they went together to the Prophet ﷺ. The man recited before the Prophet ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "You have recited well."Umar seemed troubled by this, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "Umar, the entire Quran is correct, so long as one does not turn a verse of punishment into one of mercy, or a verse of mercy into one of punishment."
