The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This Quran was revealed in seven modes, so recite from it and there is no harm. But do not end a verse of mercy with one of punishment, nor a verse of punishment with one of mercy."
إن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن هذا القرآن أنزل على سبعة أحرف، فاقرأوا ولا حرج، ولكن لا تختموا ذكر رحمة بعذاب، ولا ذكر عذاب برحمة.
Ibn Jareer narrated it in his Tafsir (1/40) from Amr bin Uthman Uthmani, who said, "Ibn Abu Uways told us, saying, 'My brother told us, from Sulayman bin Bilal, from Muhammad bin Ajlan, from Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah,'" and he related it. Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Abu Uways and Muhammad bin Ajlan, for both of them make the hadith hasan.
