The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of prophethood."In another wording reported by Muslim, "The dream of a Muslim that he sees or that is seen for him..."In another wording of his, "A righteous dream..."In another wording of his, "The dream of a righteous man..."
Bukhari narrated it in the book of dream interpretation (6988), and Muslim narrated it in the book of visions (8:2263), both through the route of Zuhri, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah, as mentioned.Muslim also narrated it through the route of Abdullah bin Numayr, from Amash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, with the second wording. He also narrated it through the route of Ali bin Mushir, from Amash, with the same chain, with the third wording. He also narrated it through the route of Yahya bin Abu Kathir, who said, Abu Salama narrated to us, from Abu Hurairah, with the fourth wording.Ahmad narrated it (7168), (8506) through the route of Asim bin Kulayb, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, as a marfu narration, "The vision of the Muslim man is one part out of seventy parts of prophethood," and its chain of transmission has no problem with it.Ibn Hibban also narrated it (6044) through the route of Ibn Idris, from his father, from his grandfather, from Abu Hurairah, with the same wording, and its chain of transmission also has no problem with it. It is corroborated by what is found in the Sahih, which is the hadith of Ibn Umar that will come shortly.
