The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no contagion, no evil omen, no hama, and no Safar. Flee from the leper as you would flee from a lion."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا عدوى، ولا طيرة ولا هامة، ولا صفر، وفر من المجذوم كما تفر من الأسد.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Medicine (5707), saying, Affan said, Salim bin Hayan told us, Saeed bin Mina told us, saying, I heard Abu Hurairah saying, then he mentioned it.Affan is Ibn Muslim al-Saffar, one of Bukhari's teachers, and his statement "Affan said" is to be understood as connected, as I have explained. This is the view of Ibn Salah, in contrast to the opinion of Ibn Hajar, who considers it a suspended (muallaq) report.
